Dating back to the 17th century this former farmhouse, corn mill and hostelry, (which is said to have brewed its own ale on site,) has been lovingly converted and extended to the comfortable country house hotel it is today, blending modern facilities with traditional Lakeland hospitality whilst retaining many of the original features and character.
The photographs in this section date to around 1945, with the centre shot of the original single storey building dating back further again.
